Happiness.Today is a day of much joy, as we welcome Bronte to our family...just in time for the holidays! What???? If you know us well, you know that we are dog lovers in this home...and bringing home another 4-legged furry friend was always in the cards for the Olsen family, however timing has always been our roadblock. It's a pretty neat story though and God certainly gets the credit for working out the details for us. So....here we go!
We brought Bronte home on Sunday, December 7, as Bronte's former owners surrendered him to the Oregon Humane Society last month after 10 years out of financial need. An incredibly difficult decision for a family who has very much loved this sweet dog and taken wonderful care of him his entire life. We are so blessed that they trained him so well and loved on him so much. It was out of love that they gave him up and it was that same love that led us to him.
We were able to view Bronte online before meeting him in person, and although we'd selected two dogs to look at, we didn't need to move beyond Bronte. He was the right fit for our family from the moment we laid eyes on him. He has an incredibly sweet personality and is very gentle with Avery (even though she's probably pressed all his buttons). He's got a lot of energy like a puppy but very well behaved. From the moment we walked into our door, we haven't had to worry about him tearing anything up or any accidents in the house (we know...it's only been 24 hrs) and him being here is very natural for us. He's already an Olsen.
We've both missed Reilly immensely over the last 19 mos. and think of him often. Sadly he wasn't able to be with us in the latter part of his life, however, we are able to be with Bronte in the latter part of his life. How special for us! We are pleased to offer him a new home and hope to keep up with his sled-dog leash habits and active lab nature. ;-)
